Catching Up

From A...

Thankfully, this month has been incredibly busy for A's Creations but has left very little time to stay on top of blogging, so I'm going to try to catch you up on what's been going on here for the last several weeks...

Mike continues to substitute teach between Lubbock and Amarillo while Macey and I have been staying put in Amarillo doing lots of holiday baking. I got a great catering job, making appetizers and desserts for 150 for a Christmas Open House (pictures below). The job grew quickly into one where they needed me to coordinate rentals, decorate the space and be an on-site server. I was very encouraged and blessed by the opportunity. After baking for three days, I was exhausted and my back started to go out the morning of the event. My sister and brother-in-law rose to the occasion and helped carry and deliver all the boxes and platters of food so I wouldn't have to bend and lift and could make it through the day of serving. It worked - my back held out all day! So I treated myself to a massage the next morning. :-)

After a weekend of rest I had orders to fulfill through Christmas Eve - a couple of breakfasts to bake for, some neighborhood orders, and my sister's Christmas meal (she's been my best customer!) My 18-month old niece, Quinci, helped me deliver to some of the neighbors...

There is a time for everything,
a season for every activity
under heaven. A time to be
born and a time to die. A
time to plant and a time to
harvest. A time to kill and
a time to heal. A time to
tear down and a time to
rebuild. A time to cry and
a time to laugh. A time to
grieve and a time to dance.
A time to scatter stones
and a time to gather stones.
A time to embrace and a
time to turn away. A time to
search and a time to lose.
A time to keep and a time to
throw away. A time to tear
and a time to mend. A time
to be quiet and a time to
speak up. A time to love
and a time to hate. A time
for war and a time for peace.

May 2006 be
your time to laugh,
embrace & receive
personal peace,
Dr. Howdy
