Octoberfest!

When I first realized we would still be in Texas for Octoberfest and St. Joseph's Annual Sausage Festival, I was so excited! St. Joseph's is the Catholic church in Slaton that I went to during high school and where I was confirmed - so I love the people there and have great memories of many Sausage Fests and dances. Their homemade sausage is the best, and we had our fill as we were working the concession stand yesterday...

One of the great blessings of going to visit family in Central Texas this weekend was getting to see my Grandmother, Honey. Adrienne and I got to spend a couple of days visiting with her and listening to music with her at her nursing home.

We're at Fort Hood, Texas again today celebrating little Dave's first birthday. Dave is the son of my step-brother BJ and his wife Marcia. We enjoyed spending time with family at the party and we had a great time.

Friday Night Lights

We went to see the Burnet Bulldogs play tonight. My buddy Kurt is one of the coaches and I had never gotten a chance to see his team play. Kurt and I have been friends since we were six years old and we spent a lot of years playing baseball and football together. At the game we sat with his wife and daughter (she will turn two in a few weeks) and his dad. It was a great time of catching up and reminiscing about times gone by.
