Catching Up

Thankfully, this month has been incredibly busy for A's Creations but has left very little time to stay on top of blogging, so I'm going to try to catch you up on what's been going on here for the last several weeks...
Mike continues to substitute teach between Lubbock and Amarillo while Macey and I have been staying put in Amarillo doing lots of holiday baking. I got a great catering job, making appetizers and desserts for 150 for a Christmas Open House (pictures below). The job grew quickly into one where they needed me to coordinate rentals, decorate the space and be an on-site server. I was very encouraged and blessed by the opportunity. After baking for three days, I was exhausted and my back started to go out the morning of the event. My sister and brother-in-law rose to the occasion and helped carry and deliver all the boxes and platters of food so I wouldn't have to bend and lift and could make it through the day of serving. It worked - my back held out all day! So I treated myself to a massage the next morning. :-)
After a weekend of rest I had orders to fulfill through Christmas Eve - a couple of breakfasts to bake for, some neighborhood orders, and my sister's Christmas meal (she's been my best customer!) My 18-month old niece, Quinci, helped me deliver to some of the neighbors...

After getting the chance to experience the sheer pleasure of a stomach virus THE DAY BEFORE THANKSGIVING, I felt well enough to travel south to spend some time with my family in Brownwood. From there Adrienne and I drove my sister and her family home to College Station and stayed for about a week with them. We got to spend a lot of time with their two little girls, Darby and Tayler.
